Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids online movie review - Great show but lackluster vocals from JT
Amazing show and performers. Literally one of the coolest shows I've ever seen but 2 items of crtitique: 1. The movie has really bad editing.
They show some really weird camera angles at some points; one was looking up at JT's feet through a glass floor he was dancing on for 5 seconds. What was that about? 2. The concert/performance itself was fantastic except it would be nice if JT actually sung the chorus and sung it more like the studio album vocals. He relied too much on his back up singers for the chorus and the bridge of every other song. Also having the audience sing every line of the chorus for the whole song is annoying. It didn't happen the whole time, but it happened on a number of songs. Doing it a few times is fine . . . but literally like the last 4 or 5 songs were like that the whole time. His vocals on Mirrors was especially disappointing.
Otherwise, his different take on the songs from the album versions were cool. I appreciated that. Just need more effort on the vocals and less being distracted by the audience. Otherwise, it is worth watching but you will find yourself turning on the studio album after it.
